Last night was a night to remember. The Washington Mystics are officially WMBA Champions. The league MVP Elena Delle Donne was playing injured last night. Delle Donne has been dealing with a herniated disk in her back. However, Emma Meesseman played a stellar game which is why she was named the WNBA Finals MVP. The Mystics defeated the Connecticut Sun 89 to 78. This is the Mystics first-ever WNBA Championship title.

It’s official, the Mystics are WNBA champions. The Mystics played hard until the end. The ladies were trailing at the half. However, they had a powerful come back in the fourth quarter. The leading ladies for the Mystics are the following; Emma Meesseman, Elena Delle Donne, and Kristi Toliver. The WNBA Finals MVP Emma Meesseman led her team in points in last night’s game. Meesseman played for 27 minutes and within those 27 minutes, she scored 22 points, had three rebounds and three assists. The league MVP Elena Delle Donne led her team in rebounds. Delle Donne played for a total of 37 minutes and within those 37 minutes, she had nine rebounds, two assists and scored 21 points. Kristi Toliver led her team in assists. Toliver played for 38 minutes and within those 38 minutes, she had four assists, four rebounds and scored 18 points.
The Connecticut Sun
The Sun played a great game. They started strong in the first half. They were leading 43-42 at halftime. The held on to their lead in the third quarter. However, they were outplayed in the fourth, which resulted in their defeat. The Sun played well in this series. The leading ladies for the Sun are the following; Jonquel Jones, Alyssa Thomas, and Jasmine Thomas. Jonquel Jones led her team in points last night. Jones played for a total of 30 minutes and within those 30 minutes, she scored 25 points, had nine rebounds and zero assists. Alyssa Thomas led her team in rebounds. Thomas played for a total of 37 minutes and within those 37 minutes, she had 12 rebounds, scored 21 points and had six assists. Jasmine Thomas tied her teammate Alyssa Thomas in assists. Thomas played for 34 minutes and within those 34 minutes, she had six assists, three rebounds and scored two points.
