This evening, the Los Angeles Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars made a trade involving star cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The Jaguars received two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021.
And so in 24 hours, Rams trade for Jalen Ramsey, trade away Marcus Peters and place Aqib Talib on IR.

From the Jaguars side, I believe this a great trade honestly. Ramsey wanted out of Jacksonville, and he got his wish; they also received plenty of high picks. The two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021 could quickly fill the hole he left.
The Rams side of this trade is good but not as good. They did receive, arguably, the best cornerback in the NFL right now, but they gave up a lot of future revenue. The Rams gave away back to back first-rounders, which will defiantly hurt them in the long run. Ramsey will be around for a good while, but he won’t be around forever, the future needs to be still intact. The Rams traded their future for Ramsey, which could very well pay off, but if it doesn’t, then it will hurt for years to come.
Ramsey’s been a very healthy player in his career and never missed a game yet due to injury before this season. He has played in 51 games and started them all. Ramsey also is now his fourth year in the NFL already has acquired 210 tackles, as well as nine interceptions. Stats can’t show skill, which Ramsey possesses a lot of. Ramsey can go one on one with any man in the league and look great. Whether it be, Antonio Brown in the playoffs or Deandre Hopkins, who quoted, “He’s s my favorite corner to play against.”
This trade should make for an exciting rest of the season. The former Jaguars quarterback, Blake Bortles, is also a Ram now as well. Maybe Ramsey and Bortles can bond over that and help Ramsey become closer with the new team. As for how this trade will work out? We will have to see what the future holds for both teams and Jalen Ramsey.
