Game three was another game that goes down in the books. The MVP recipient Elena Delle Donne was back in action from her back spasms. The Mystics beat the Sun 94 to 81. With this victory, the Mystics have advanced to a 2-1 lead over the Sun.
The Connecticut Sun
The Connecticut Sun played another tough game. The Sun had a second-quarter come back, however, they struggled to keep it up the second half of the game. The leading ladies for the Sun are the following; Jonquel Jones, Jasmine Thomas, and Alyssa Thomas. Jonquel Jones led her team in rebounds. Jones played for 33 minutes and within those 33 minutes, she had nine rebounds, one assist, and nine points. Jasmine Thomas tied her teammate Shekinna Stricklen in points scored during Sunday’s game. Thomas played for 36 minutes and within those 36 minutes, she scored 16 points, had zero rebounds and six assists. Alyssa Thomas led her team in assists. Thomas played for 40 minutes and within those 40 minutes, she had nine assists, eight rebounds and scored 13 points.
The Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics outplayed the Sun in Game 3. The leaders for the Mystics are the following; Emma Meesseman, Kristi Toliver, and Aerial Powers. Emma Meesseman led her team in points. Meesseman played for 25 minutes and within those 25 minutes, she scored 21 points, had six rebounds and had one assist. Kristi Toliver led her team in assists. Toliver played for 32 minutes and within those 32 minutes, she had 10 assists, scored 20 points and had two rebounds. Aerial Power led her team in rebounds. Powers played for 23 minutes and within those 23 minutes, she had eight rebounds, zero assists and scored four points.
The Mystics and the Sun are back in action tonight for Game 4 at 8 pm EST. This game will be in the Sun’s home in Connecticut. The Mystics have a chance to end the 2019 WNBA Finals tonight if they beat the Sun.
