The Sun Take Game Two

The Sun beat the Mystics 99-87.

Last night game was a long game for the Washington Mystics. The Sun dominated most of the game. The way the Sun played last night reassured them that they deserve to be in the Finals. The Sun tied the series 1-1 with their victory over the Mystics 99 to 87.

Washington Mystics

The Washington Mystics had a rough game because one of the star players Elena Delle Donne got injured in the first quarter. According to the Mystics, she was having back spasms and was out for the rest of Game 2. Her teammates did not give up hope. They fought to the end. The Mystics ended up tying the Suns during the 4th quarter after trailing for the majority of the game. The leading ladies for the Mystics are the following; Kristi Toliver, Emma Meesseman, and Tianna Hawkins. Kristi Toliver led her team in assists. Toliver played for 39 minutes and within those 39 minutes, she had seven assists, had two rebounds and scored 13 points. Emma Meesseman led her team in points and rebounds. Meesseman played for 36 minutes and within those 36 minutes, she scored 23 points, had eight rebounds and three assists. Tianna Hawkins played for 23 minutes and within those 23 minutes, Hawkins scored 16 points, had sis rebounds and one assist.

Connecticut Sun

The Sun had a great game last night. The leading ladies for the Sun are the following; Jonquel Jones, Alyssa Thomas, and Courtney M. Williams. Jonquel Jones led her team in points and rebounds. Jones played for 33 minutes and within those 33 minutes, she scored 32 points, had 18 rebounds and one assist. Alyssa Thomas tied Courtney M. Williams tied for assists. Thomas played for 40 minutes and within those 40 minutes, she had six assists, 12 rebounds and scored 12 points. Courtney M. Williams played for 35 minutes and within those 35 minutes, Williams scored 22 points, had three rebounds and six assists.

The Mystics and the Sun are going to be back action Sunday at 3:30 pm. We hope that both teams will be 100% for Game 3.
