River City Wrestling Con Returns To Jacksonville In June 2020!

River City Wrestling Con

Calling all Professional Wrestling fans! River City Wrestling Con is returning to Jacksonville, Florida in June of 2020! The second annual RCWC promises to be bigger, better, and maybe even a little more “hardcore” than the last!

The above video was posted to the official River City Wrestling Con Facebook page on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 to officially announce that they would be making their return on June 13th, 2020. River City Wrestling Con hosted their inaugural convention at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds in Jacksonville, Florida earlier this year in 2019. RCWC partnered with USWA to bring you action-packed LIVE wrestling matches, canon question & answer panels, a cosplay contest AND MORE! People from all over filled the Jacksonville Fairgrounds to be a part of this history-making experience. Once the doors opened, it did not take long for it to be packed.

The best part of this convention is that they spared no expense when booking their guests for the event. The inaugural RCWC featured star-studded guest line up  of world-renown names in pro-wrestling  history from multiple brands such as Rocky Johnson, Jake “The Snake Roberts, Arn Anderson, The NWO (“Razor Ramon” Scott Hall and Kevin Nash), Vickie Guerrero, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Tessa Blanchard, Tully Blanchard, Tenille Dashwood, Teddy Long, Austin Gunn, and even Jaskonville’s own Barbie Blank aka Kelly Kelly. Those were only a few names on the list. Imagine all of these incredible people in one place at one time interacting with fans, signing autographs and taking pictures. It’s a once in a lifetime experience that a wrestling fan could only ever dream of!

At the inaugural convention, I had the opportunity to be on-site providing media coverage of the entire event with Josh Mousel for Ambush Sports. I had the opportunity to talk with fans from all over. I even interviewed a few of the cosplayers entered into the cosplay contest.

See the excitement level first hand in this interview I did with the man cosplaying as AJ Styles:

“Having a convention like River City Wrestling Con definitely gives life to Jacksonville as far as the convention scene goes. The bigger conventions are normally held in Orlando. So, having one here in Jacksonville like this will hopefully allow for bigger shows and much bigger turnouts in the future.”
– Hunter

When all was said and done, though the competition was heavy, Hunter came out victorious and the good people over at RCWC crowned him the official RCWC 2019 Cosplay Champion.

Not only was I able to chat with fans from all over, but I also had the opportunity to chat with some of the big names that were featured at this event such as Teddy Long and Jacksonville’s own Barbie Blank aka Kelly Kelly.

Take a look at what Jacksonville’s own Kelly Kelly had to say about RCWC as well as what she is up to now in this interview:

It [River City Wrestling Con] is so exciting! I think it’s great for Jacksonville. I think we have great people out here at the con. It has been great!”
– Barbie Blank aka Kelly Kelly

As you can see from both the fan and professional aspect, River City Wrestling Con is a BIG deal not only for professional wrestling fans but for the entire city of Jacksonville. As both a reporter and a long-time die-hard wrestling fan, I had the time of my life at this incredible event.

If you are a fan of professional wrestling, you NEED to be at this event! It is an action-packed event full of great people from all over the professional wrestling business. As I said earlier, the second annual promises to bigger, better and maybe even a little more “hardcore” in comparison to last year so you do not want to miss out!
