The NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday, the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals acquired players on Monday.
New York Giants trade for Leonard Williams
Trade: Jets traded Leonard Williams to Giants for a 3 this year and a 5 in 2021, per source.

The New York Jets traded former first-round pick Leonard Williams to the New York Giants. The Jets will receive third-round pick and a 2021 fifth-round pick. The fifth-round pick could become a fouth if Williams re-signs with the Giants. The Jets will eat $4 million of the balance of Williams’s contract this year.
Williams will join a Giants defense that does not have that much talent, but this is a strange move for the Giants. The Giants are making a win-now move when the team is going nowhere. Giving up a draft picks in this situation is a head-scratcher to me. Williams is an unrestricted free agent and might not sign back with you, so it could be like renting a player and losing picks when your team does not have a lot of talent.
Kenyan Drake Traded To The Cardinals
— NFL (@NFL) October 28, 2019
The Miami Dolphins traded running back Kenyan Drake to the Arizona Cardinals for a 2020 sixth-round draft pick. The pick could be a fifth-round pick if conditions are met.
The Cardinals acquired Drake because David Johnson has been out with an ankle, and Chase Edmonds been dealing with hamstring injuries. Drake has 174 rushing yards this season and 174 receiving yards so far this season. He has the dual-threat ability and should fit well in the Cardinals offense. Arizona is 3-4-1 and looking to stay in the playoff picture, so i like this move for them. Plus, Drake is a perfect fit for the Kingsbury offense.
With the trade deadline being tomorrow, it will be interesting to see if other teams make moves to make a run for the playoffs. There are a lot of good players up for trades; let’s see who will make some moves.
