The Orlando Apollos are wasting no time in ensuring their fans get the best experience possible in this inaugural season. Just announced moments ago, the Orlando Apollos inked a radio deal by partnering with iHeart radio to bring a weekly radio show, pregame and postgame shows, and of course, live coverage of the Apollos games.
Jamie Seh will be Orlando’s “Voice of the Apollos,” taking on the role of play-by-play announcer and host of the Apollos’ Weekly Radio show that will feature Coach Steve Spurrier. Seh was recently promoted to sports director of WKMG-TV (CBS) News 6 after covering sports there for seven years. Seh has also spent time as the sports director for WTEN-TV in Albany, New York.
Seh will be joined by Rene Ingoglia on game days as the Color Analyst. Ingoglia has been with ESPN for the past eight years and calls college football games on ESPNU. Ingoglia was awarded, by the Associated Press, the Best Football Broadcast in the New England area for his work as a color analyst on the UMass Sports Network in 2010. He also serves as a law enforcement officer, of 18 years, with the Orlando Police Department. His current assignment is that of a detective in the Violent Crimes Section of the Criminal Investigation Division.
Rounding out the broadcast team is none other than the host of Orlando radio show “The Finish Line” and The Shot Doctor, Jerry O’Neill. O’Neill duties will include the pre and postgame host and sideline reporter. It will be a splash of familiarity for Central Florida fans since O’Neill has held these same roles for the University of Central Florida Knights’ football program since 1995. O’Neill brings his 35 years of experience to the Apollos, after serving as program director for three different radio stations.
This is incredibly exciting news for any Orlando Apollos fans. It shows a deep level of commitment to the fan base, a point of emphasis for the Alliance of American Football. Aside from the radio deal for the Apollos, the AAF is also creating an app where fans can stream games with access to fantasy options.
You can tune in for the 10-game regular season, plus postseason games, on WTKS-FM 104.1. All games will have a 30-minute pregame as well as a 30-minute postgame that will feature Coach Spurrier and other Apollos’ players. The first broadcast will feature an hour-long pregame show live from Spectrum Stadium on February 9th (view full schedule HERE!
