The 2018 Boston Red Sox!

Man, what a season! This season has been special for the AL East Champion Boston Red Sox!

It all started in early March when the Red Sox signed All-Star slugger JD Martinez to a 5-year, $110 million contract! JD is the power bat the Red Sox have been seeking since “Big Papi” David Ortiz retired after the 2016 season! He has certainly filled the monster sized hole at DH in the lineup! Martinez finished the 2018 season with a .330 batting average, 43 home runs, and 130 RBIs. Those statistics lead the majors (for RBIs) and is second in home runs and batting average!

This season has been spectacular to watch for Boston fans. The Red Sox have won their third consecutive division title, and have finished the season with their best record since 1946! They finished the season with a record of 108-53, setting a franchise record with their 108 wins in the regular season! The Sox dominated the league since starting the season 17-2 in their first nineteen games. They went into the All-Star break on July 15th with the major leagues best record of 68-30.

Another astonishing feat they accomplished, they had the major’s best 93 wins before September 1st!

Now onto the postseason! The Red Sox are riding into the playoffs with the number one seed and will play the winner of the AL wild-card game between the New York Yankees and the Oakland Athletics.

The Red Sox start the ALDS (Divisional Series)on October 4th! The ALDS is a best of 5 series and decides who will play in the ALCS (Championship Series), culminating the advancement to the “Fall Classic” The World Series in late October!

Personally, I don’t see why the Red Sox can’t go all the way and win it all, with the tremendous talent they have this year!

Id love to have your feedback and your opinions on who your picking to go the distance this year!

Bring on the playoffs!
