One of the most underrated punters in this year’s class is Drake Higgins from Missouri Valley College. Higgins finished the 2018 season ranked third in the NAIA and first in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The punter had an average of 41.8 on his punts. He had a long punt this season of 74 yards and landed 13 punts inside the 20-yard line. Higgins had 2,006 total punt yards on 48 punts last season! This season, Higgins had 39 punts accumulating 1,757 yards. His average was 45.1 yards per punt with a long of 71 yards!
Hype on Higgins
Higgins would be a great asset for a pro team, whether it be NFL, CFL, or even the XFL. He has a strong leg and loves to play the game. The 6”2 257 punter is going to be a massive sleeper in this year’s draft and possibly one of the best punters in the class when it comes to a purely performance-based showdown.
