My prediction

Even though experts on the blood-red podcast predicted that this game would be a tough game for the reds.  I thought the reds would dominate the game. They are the more talented side.

Liverpool goalie

Liverpool and Arsenal trade chances early. The Liverpool defense let Arsenals forward line open looks.  Adrian has stepped up in Allison Becker’s absence. Today he was very good at cutting down angles and stopping balls.

Liverpool pressure

Liverpool kept the pressure on the gunners. After several plays sailing wide, they were finally rewarded.  The corner kick by Trent Alexander Arnold found it’s way to Joel Matip. He heads a beauty past the keeper to put the Reds on the board.

The Second Half

The second half Liverpool took over.  They dominated the pace of play.  Also, the reds played a more wide-open game.  Liverpool pressed and continued to put the pressure on Arsenal.  The Reds had possession in the gunner’s end.  Mo Salah quickly took the pass from Trent Alexander. Mo Salah brilliantly escapes past the defenders. The defenders had no choice but to tug at his kit.  He drew a yellow card. As a result, a penalty kick was awarded. Then this happened

He nets it home.  The Egyptian King doubles the score.  Two nothing Liverpool.

The King strikes again.

Mo Salah didn’t waste any time scoring his second goal of the contest.

The lead pass ahead hit Salah in stride.  He was off to the races. He pulled a magic trick and fooled the defender.  The defender was so caught up in the illusion he could easily slide past him.  Then the finish.  What an incredible strike from inside the box.  Past the keeper for his second goal of the game.

Arsenal gets on the Board

The gunners finally get on the board. Lucas Torreira Di Pascua scores at 85 minutes.  The Gunners finally broke through the brick wall of Adrian and got on the board.  Clean sheet vanquished.  The reds still go on for the victory

The final result

Liverpool accomplished a win against an Arsenal side that is playing better.  The reds proved to be too big, too fast, too good.  This team constantly bombarded the Gunners with 17 shots inside the box and 25 shots total.  The Gunners only had nine shots.  Possession favored the home side with 53 percent with 553 passes completed.  As you can see, this is a good formula for success.  Along with capitalizing on three of those chances and conceding one goal.

In conclusion, the reds had an outstanding performance.  The reds wore down the opposition.  This team showed that they are head and shoulders one of the best teams in the league.
