The Memphis Express come back home to face the top dog Orlando Apollos. But the Express is heating up lately especially after that big win in Birmingham last weekend.
The Memphis defense will have their hands full with the wrath of Orlando. Garrett Gilbert quarterback and front runner for MVP will be looking to take advantage of the Express in any weakness he can. Which in this one I think the Memphis secondary will be rough in.
Memphis will have to deal with Charles Johnson who is a lot of peoples number one receiver in the league. Jalin Marshall as well, and the Orlando tight ends are a force as well with Sean Price, Matt Weiser, and Scott Orndorff, all of which are very versatile.
I think what can keep Memphis in this game is Brandon Silvers playing like he did last game. He looked like he was in the zone. I would like to see Johnny Manziel in some formations as well to switch things up because he is a dual threat and could be problematic to the Apollos defense.
Reece Horn will have to find a way to get open in the tight Apollo secondary. Keith Reaser of the Apollos is the guy who always raises some eyebrows and definitely could play on an NFL team in the future. Reggie Northrup, linebacker, is also a guy to watch because he has had more than one game with 10 or more tackles.
If held to an out of field goal range fourth down for a punt that could be good for Memphis. Ryan Winslow who is a great punter and D’Ernest Johnson, the return man for the Apollos, muffs a lot of punts, so if the Express men can get downfield quick, maybe they can force a muff or fumble.
This game should be good; I do think Memphis is getting hot but not enough to beat Orlando. At the end in Memphis, I see the score Orlando Apollos- 31 Memphis Express – 24. Memphis has been looking better every week, but I don’t think it’s enough to beat Orlando.
