Orlando Predators Return Home To “The Jungle”

In October of 2016, The Orlando Predators announced that they would be suspending all team operations until further notice. The team had been a staple in the Orlando community for over two decades before making this announcement. As you could imagine, the team had a pretty loyal fanbase. Many longtime fans were met with shock and disappointment when hearing this announcement.

On January 17th, 2019, The Orlando Predators shocked the city by announcing that they would be returning to the Amway Center for the 2019 Season. Only this time, the Predators would not be returning in the same league. The Orlando Predators were picked up by a newer Arena Football League known as the “NAL” which stands for the “National Arena League.”

The NAL was founded in 2016 and hosted their inaugural season in 2017 with a total of 6 teams. This year, the league expanded to 8 teams with the addition of “The New York Streets” and “The Orlando Predators.”

Following the news that Predators would be coming home, it was revealed that the team had received new ownership. Orlando Predators are now under the ownership of legendary Arena Football player and Orlando Predator Alumni, Kenny McEntyre aka “The Glove.” Kenney McEntyre is not only a former Predator player and arena football legend, but he is a die-hard fan as well. Along with being alumni, he is a man who cares passionately about the brand and its fans.

Head Coach: Doug Miller

Along with being a former Orlando Predator player himself, he also has prior Orlando Predator coaching experience. Miller served as a line coach alongside former Orlando Predator Head Coach Pat O’ Hara. Coaching alongside O’Hara in Orlando, Miller helped lead the Predators to back-to-back playoff appearances as an assistant coach.

Upon making his first appearance as Head Coach an Orlando Predators press conference, Coach Miller stated that he wanted to bring the championship back to the city of Orlando. You can find footage of his statement at the press conference below:
