(Ambush Sports) — It’s not foreign to professional wrestling for spoilers to come out regarding upcoming major events. This is no different for WWE and the granddaddy of all sports entertainment, WrestleMania, where its 36th annual event is being held in Tampa.
Bill Pritchard from WrestleZone reports that WWE is making plans for The Undertaker to take on the “Phenomenal One” AJ Styles at WrestleMania.
Styles has been out of action since Royal Rumble, suffering from a shoulder injury while participating in the Royal Rumble men’s match. WWE’s medical team is not deeming the injury as too serious, because he is slated to be on the card for the Super ShowDown event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Feb. 27.
Styles also insists that he will wrestle at WrestleMania.
Currently, the only match confirmed is the WWE Championship match between current champion Brock Lesnar and Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre, but some current top matches may be based on current storylines.
The addition of Styles/Undertaker could make for one of the most loaded shows in years.
Some hypothetic matches based on storylines:
- Bray Wyatt (c) v. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship
- Becky Lynch (c) v. Asuka for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship (maybe with a large enough push: Becky Lynch (c) v. Shayna Baszler)
- Rhea Ripley (c) v. Charlotte Flair for the NXT Women’s Championship
- Edge v. Randy Orton
- John Cena v. TBD
