Lynch said the opportunity would help keep football in Oakland. Lynch’s brother Davonte Sapp-Lynch played for the Arizona Indoor Football League team. Marshawn Lynch retired from football after last season and saw the Oakland Panthers as second chance to leave the legacy in Oakland.
Lynch became involved with the Panthers when he met co-owner Roy Choi and Scott Mckibben at IFLgame in Arizona.
The Panthers will play the Oakland Arena, known as the Oracle Arena where the Golden State Warriors played. Oakland Panther season will feature seven home games, and the team is expecting between 6.000 to 8,000 fans per game. The owners are hoping to have fans from the old San Jose Sabercats convert to Panthesr fans. The Sabercats last played in 2015 and won four Arena Football Championships.
It will be nice to have more football in Oakland after the Raiders leave. Oakland fans are passionate, and i feel the Panthers will do very well, especially with Marshawn Lynch involved.
