The Seattle Dragons fell to the DC Defenders 31-19 Saturday afternoon. Silvers wasn’t throwing a great ball, and the secondary wasn’t looking so great. Those things can be fixed and should be ready to take on an almost scoreless Tampa Bay Vipers team. Here’s a look at three of the best three players the Dragons showcased in week one.
The first star of this game goes out to, Austin Proehl. He was all over the field, making big plays, and he had the first touchdown in XFL history. His final stat line on the day is five receptions for 88 yards and two touchdowns!
Proehl was very much so all over the Defenders defense like the play when he took a pass 57 yards to the house. The only mistake he made was a simple slip late in the game, but that’s nothing, and he made up for it earlier with the two touchdown catches.
Steven Johnson is the second star. He certainly had a good game on defense, for eight total tackles. Two of the tackles came for a loss, and six were solo. Johnson really showcased what being a Dragon means on the defensive side of the ball, it looked like he was breathing fire just about every play Saturday afternoon.
Punter Brock Miller receives my third star in this game. He got a good amount of action and made pinning Eli Rogers deep in his own Defenders territory look easy, and he pinned him at his own 20 and 10.

He did have the punt blocked in the end zone but that wasn’t his fault. His blocker just missed his block, mistakes happen. But he came right back and booted that 44-yard ball to the Defenders own 10 and that shows Miller doesn’t let things get to him; that’s a great trait to have.
Victory Against the Vipers?
The Dragons will take on a very shaky Aaron Murray and the Tampa Bay Vipers, and this should be a great game for the Dragons to rebound. This game will also be the Seattle Dragons home opener.
