Wow. Absolutely crazy ending to an absolutely crazy game. Saints vs. Texans was definitely the Game of the Week in week 1. The game ended in the final seconds, and oh was it crazy. It was a good one for New Orleans as they haven’t won an opener since 2013. That includes last years 48-40 loss to the Buccaneers. The Saints weren’t the only team that played well either, as the Texans put up 28 and almost won.

          Stats:

          Drew Brees- 32/43, 370 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 74.4% completion percentage

Alvin Kamara- 13 rushes, 97 yards, 7 receptions 72 yards

          Latavius Murray- 6 rushes, 43 yards, 1 TD, 2 receptions 4 yards

Michael Thomas- 10 receptions, 123 yards, 12.3 average

Ted Ginn Jr- 7 receptions, 101 yards, 14.4 average

          Taysom Hill- 1 reception, 9 yards, 1 TD, 2 rushes, 8 yards

Cameron Jordan- 5 tackles, 1 sack

          Vonn Bell- 7 tackles

Marcus Williams- 2 tackles, 1 INT

The Saints played really well and had an excellent final drive with 37 seconds to win the game. They were set up with almost no time after Watson a threw 38-yard pass to Hopkins then a 37 yarder to Stills for a touchdown. Watson had a good drive, but so did the Saints on that final one.

The game was incredibly close and could have gone either way in the final seconds after the Texans scored in 14 seconds with 0:55 left on the clock. New Orleans came back from a 14-3 deficit at half where Lutz missed a 56 yarder. New Orleans goes on to face the Los Angeles Rams who won their first game 30-27 against the Panthers in week 1.
