The Dolphins signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a two-year deal this offseason; he spent the last two seasons in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers. Josh Rosen, acquired in the offseason for a second-round pick from the Arizona Cardinals. Rosen threw for more yards 352 to 166 than Fitzpatrick, but Rosen received more playing time. Rosen Completed 28 out of 45 passes, but did not throw a touchdown and threw one interception.
Fitzpatrick finished the preseason completing 17 out of 32 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown. Fitzpatrick has been solid at times in his career, but he is only good in spurts. He may start the season on fire, but as the season goes on, he will come back down to earth. So with that being said, Josh Rosen should still work hard because Fitzpatrick track record says he will play bad at some point this season. That means Rosen will get a shot sometime this season.
In his, career Fitzpatrick has thrown for 29,357 yards, 190 touchdowns, and 148 interceptions. He is 50-75-1 as a starter.
Rosen, was a rookie last season with the Cardinals, he threw for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He was 3-10 as a starter last season. Rosen suffered from the Cardinals poor offensive line play. He is looking for a fresh start in Miami but will be the backup quarterback to start the season.
The Dolphins quaterback competition went down to the last preseason game, and Fitzpatrick won it, but don’t be surprised if you see Rosen at some point this season. When Rosen gets his shot, it will be his job to lose. So when his times come, he must jump on it and don’t look back.
