Ezekiel Elliott Planning To Hold Out

Ezekiel Elliott

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has said privately he is planning to hold out unless he gets a new contract. The Cowboys have not focused on giving Elliott a new contract because he has two more years on his rookie deal. Instead, the Cowboys have focused on signing quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper. Prescott and Cooper both will be free agents at the end of the season.

Ezekiel Elliott is due to make only $ 3.85 million this season and $ 9.09 million in 2020. Elliott is probably looking for at least 10 million a year. It would be smart for Zeke to hold out because in two more years the Cowboys can claim he has to much wear and tear on his body and not to pay him.

The Cowboys should give Elliott a new deal. Yes i know he gets into a lot of trouble in the off-season, but Elliott is what makes the Cowboys offense go. Since Elliott has come into the league, the Cowboys are 17-4 when he runs for over 100 more yards in a game. Last season the Cowboys were 0-7 when Elliott ran for 70 yards are less.

So this should tell you the Cowboys offense thrives on what Elliott brings to the table. It is time for them to pay up, if not they better hope Dak turns out to be what the Cowboys think he is.
