The Las Vegas Aces have the best record in the WNBA at 11-5, just one game better than the Connecticut Sun. The Aces will have three starters in the All-Star game this season. Led by forward A’Ja Wilson who will be a team captain at the game. The 16th WNBA All-Star game will be on July 27 at the Mandalay Events Center in Las Vegas. Because of the three All-Stars, the Las Vegas Aces should be the team to beat this season. There are other teams capable of winning, but it will be hard to beat the Aces this season. Here is a breakdown of the three players:
Wilson is her second season; she made the All-Star team last season as a rookie. In her second season, she will be a team Captian for the game. Also, she was the Rookie of the Year last season. Wilson averages 16 points, seven rebounds, and close to two blocks per game this season. She averaged 20 points per game last season, but with better players around this year, her scoring average is down a bit.
McBride is a three-time All-Star. This season she is averaging 15 points per game. Also, McBride is shooting 48 percent from the field and 48 percent from three. Her outside shooting helps create space for Wilson and Cambage.
Cambage is also a three-time All-Star. She is averaging 15 points, seven rebounds per game on 51 percent shooting from the field. The addition of Cambage was vital for the Aces. She has helped take the team to the next level. Cambage could be the final piece to the championship puzzle.
Each of these three players has sacrificed their games for the better of the team. Wilson, Cambage, McBride had high score averages last season. For a big three to work, you need to sacrifice for each other for it to work.
