Last night was the 2019 NBA Honors Award Show. Elite athletes were receiving awards based on their achievements on and off the court. The 2019 Most Valuable Player award goes to the great Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo, 24 is the third youngest players to ever receive the MVP Award behind Derrick Rose and LeBron James. Giannis Antetokounmpo joined fellow former Milwaukee Bucks player. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the second Bucks player to win the Most Valuable Player award. Antetokounmpo is a native of Athens Greece and last night made him the fifth person not from the United States to receive the NBA MVP Award.
This award is given to the player that has exemplified excellence throughout the year. There is not a doubt in anyone’s mind that Giannis deserves this award. Giannis Antetokounmpo elite talent has been a force the whole 2019 season. According to ESPN Staff writer Malika Andrews, Antetokounmpo received 78 of the 101 possible first-place votes. Antetokounmpo shared with a heartfelt speech about how much it meant for him to receive the MVP award. He thanks his father (who is deceased), his mother and his brothers. Antetokounmpo said his mother is “a true hero” during his thank you speech.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a player with a unique talent. He will continue to prosper in the NBA. Antetokounmpo entered the league in 2013 as the first round 15th pick. There is nothing but greatness for this young man.
