Orlando paid a visit to Mercedes Benz stadium to take on Atlanta United. Atlanta was able to take the 3 points, but that was thanks to a great display from Brad Guzan who was able to deny Orlando City the opportunity to score. Pity Martinez gave Atlanta United the lead in the 14th minute with a rocket of a shot in the upper corner that Brian Rowe was just not able to save. Ten minutes later Atlanta took another shot on goal, but thanks to Kamal Harris Orlando City were able to send the ball out for a corner kick, which was handled by Orlando City keeper Brian Rowe.
Atlanta was not able to dominate all the chances as in the 32nd minute Orlando City had a shot to equalize through Dom Dwyer who was denied by a great save from Brad Guzan who was able to get back and deny the shot from the cross. The first half ended with Orlando City having another shot on goal only to be again denied by Guzan.
Atlanta had another goal ruled out by offside in the 51st minute, and with that, the game would continue, but neither team was able to convert. So the game ended in Atlanta’s favor but the Lions can take pride in how they played as Atlanta was able to win thanks to a great effort from their goalkeeper. Orlando continues their away trips as they take on the Seattle Sounders on weds at 1030 pm in Seattle.
