With the New Orleans Pelicans winning the draft lottery on Tuesday and probably drafting Zion Williamson, Pelicans star Anthony Davis still wants to be traded from the team.
The Pelicans won the lottery for the second time in franchise history. In 2012 the Pelicans won the draft lottery and drafted Anthony Davis. Pelican new General Manager David Griffin has said he wants to try to talk Anthony Davis into staying with the team. But I don’t see Davis wanting to stay.
Although Davis is under contract for another season, it is likely he will be traded. With the Knicks having the third pick in the draft they could pull of a trade for Davis with a couple of other assets. Also, the Lakers won jumped up several spots to grab the fourth pick of the draft could be another possibility. The Lakers tried to trade for Davis this season before the trade deadline.
In his time with the Pelicans, Davis is averaging 23.7, 10. 5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game. He also made the All-Star team six times. The Pelicans have only made the playoffs twice in Davis’s time there.
