On Monday, May 6th, 2019, the XFL network deal was officially announced and they will be viewed on ABC/ESPN and Fox Sports/FS1. The deal went down Monday morning. The XFL network deal is a multi-year agreement starting in 2020. According to ESPN, XFL games will air weekly on broadcast TV (ABC and Fox) complemented by games on cable (ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, and FS2).
The XFL’s TV schedule will feature back-to-back games each Saturday at 2 p.m. ET and two games on Sunday afternoons. According to ESPN’s Executive Vice President in Programming and Scheduling, Burke Magnus, “Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck are two of the sports industry’s most creative and experienced leaders, and they have exciting plans for this league. We believe in their vision for the XFL, which will be a great addition to our year-round commitment to football.”
The XFL officially launches February 8th, 2020, which is the week after the 2020 Super Bowl.
