Orlando City is returning home from a disappointing road loss to Real Salt Lake, but the Lions will return home to their next match against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The last four matches against the Whitecaps have not gone in Orlando City’s favor, but they are a different team this go around. One that is more attacking and has better options in the back which will make this an exciting match for those who want to see attacking soccer from the MLS.
The starting lineups for the match have not been released but look for Nani and Dom Dwyer to lead the attack against Vancouver; both are currently leading the scoring charts for Orlando City with the other attacking option of Tesho Akindele and Chris Mueller only one goal behind Nani and Dom on the Orlando City goal-scoring list. Vancouver’s top scorers are all tied with one goal apiece and have not won a game this season.
The attacking for Vancouver has been missing from the team, and unfortunately, they also seem to be allowing goals to fly in from opponents. Vancouver is traveling to Orlando City, but before they can fly to the sunshine state for this matchup, they will be playing host to Western Conference leaders LAFC first. Vancouver has a tough week in front of them, and the Lions should look to capitalize on a team that has not yet begun to fire on all cylinders and take the three home points. Orlando City will Host Vancouver at Orlando City stadium at 3:00 PM ET on April 20th.
