Orlando City took a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah to play against Real Salt Lake, While Orlando fans can be disappointed in that they weren’t able to take the 3 points, at least they were able to continue to score goals even late into the game. The starting lineup for Orlando City had Tesho Akindele and Chris Mueller up front leaving Nani and Dom Dwyer on the bench. Once the game started it was a back and forth affair until a defensive mistake allowed Sam Johnson to score a goal for Real Salt Lake and give the Utah club an early lead. The game would stay a one nil affair heading into the half as both sides were unable to convert any other chances in the first half. With the start of the second half Real Salt Lake took charge and gave Real Salt Lake another goal in the 55th minute giving Real Salt Lake a two nil lead which brought Dom Dwyer and Nani off the bench in the 56th minute looking to inspire another late win for the Lions. It showed in the 60th minute as Nani made a shot on goal forcing Real Salt Lakes keeper to make a great save to deny Orlando City a goal. However, in the 81st minute, Nani struck, and Orlando City had a goal, but the comeback was not to be for the Lions as Real Salt Lake were able to hold out for the final whistle. Orlando City fans can be happy with the team as they have shown that they can continue to score goals late into the game and deserve the cardiac cat’s moniker.
