Cincinnati Bengals

2018 Record: 6-10

2019 Projected Win Total: 6

Is there anything more boring than the Cincinnati Bengals? Oh, I know, writing about the Cincinnati Bengals. Okay okay, I apologize to whatever number of Bengal fans reading this right now but come on when was the last time the Bengals were relevant. Last season they had a somewhat decent team but were decimated by injuries. This year, the same team returns but with an older Andy Dalton at QB.

Can they build on the six-win season they had last year? Potentially, but there schedule in 2019 will prove to be even more stringent than the year prior. Browns twice, Ravens twice, Steelers twice, and then add on the Patriots, Rams, Seahawks, and 49ers. The Bengals won’t be a playoff team this year, but I think they can match their expected win total. There is no value either way on this one.

2019 Win-Loss Record: 6-10

Cleveland Browns

2018 Record: 7-8-1

2019 Projected Win Total: 9

Everyone’s favorite offseason topic, the Cleveland Browns. Baker and company impressed last year once they finally escaped from the grasp of useless head coach Hue Jackson. Their offense has become one of the best in the NFL, on paper, with additions like Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt. Combined with Nick Chubb, Jarvis Landry, and Davik Njoku this offense looks like it could set records. The problem? Will first-time head coach Freddie Kitchens be able to manage a locker room with that many strong personalities?

The 2019 season could be one for the ages for this young Browns team, or things could go downhill very fast. I feel like this is a prove it before I can believe it situation. We are asking the Cleveland Browns to have double-digit wins in one season, something they haven’t done since 2007! I understand the talent that they have, but I simply don’t have the confidence in this team yet. When you look at their 2019 schedule though it is hard not to think they can hit ten going up against Bengals twice, Jets, Miami, Arizona, Denver, and Buffalo. This is a tough one, and if I had to lean on one specific side I would take the over, but this is absolutely a stay away for me.

2019 Win-Loss Record: 10-6 or 6-10

Dallas Cowboys

2018 Record: 10-6

2019 Projected Win Total: 8.5

As I have mentioned before, I am a Dallas Cowboys fan, so I say every year that they are going to go 16-0 and win the Superbowl. Well, that never actually happens. This year I am going to try and be realistic and say that they are going to at least go over their 2019 projected win total of 8.5.

The Cowboys are looking to build on the stellar season newly acquired WR Amari Cooper had in 2018, and they have added WR Randall Cobb to try to take away some of the double coverage on Cooper. They also added TE Jason Witten, so that is something. Not sure what he will contribute, but at least he’s not in the booth anymore. The Cowboys have most of their pro bowl offensive line back, and if coach Jason Garret can just get out of the way, I think the Cowboys can fall into an excellent ten win season. Their schedule isn’t as severe as 2018, and they will get to play both the Giants and Redskins twice. They also have Buffalo, Miami, Detroit, and the Jets. If they do what they are supposed to, then I feel confident taking the over 8.5.

2019 Win-Loss *Biased* Record 11-5

Denver Broncos

2018 Record: 6-10

2019 Projected Win Total: 7

The Denver Broncos, the Bengals of the AFC West, had quite a disappointing 2018 season. Last year, the Broncos signed the highly sought after free-agent QB Case Keenum. Unfortunately for John Elway and Bronco fans alike, Case Keenum was not the answer. So what did they do to turn it all around this year? They traded away Keenum and signed veteran QB Joe Flacco.

My second favorite play so far is the under seven for these Denver Broncos. Elway has been searching for years, trying to find that elusive franchise quarterback. Flacco is not that guy. Even with breakout undrafted rookie RB Philipp Lindsey having one of the best rookie seasons in recent memory, this Broncos team couldn’t even challenge for a playoff spot. They have upgraded their head coach, finally letting go of Vance Joseph, but that won’t be enough to overcome the second toughest schedule in 2019. The Broncos have to play the Chiefs and Chargers twice, the Bears, the Vikings, the Packers, and the Browns.

2019 Win-Loss Record: 5-12

Detroit Lions

2018 Record: 6-10

2019 Projected Win Total: 7

Is it just me or does everyone picture Matt Patricia with that stupid pencil sticking out of his ear every time they think of the Detroit Lions? No? Just me? Alright then. The Detroit Lions win total has gone up by one compared to what they had accomplished the year prior, and to be honest, I’m not sure why. The team has been silent during the offseason besides signing Tre Flowers, and he alone is not worth two more wins in 2019.

The Lions are stuck in a division with three strong teams and have arguably the worst head coach of the bunch. The only wins I see on this Lions schedule are against the Giants, Broncos, and Cardinals. It might sound pessimistic, but I think Patricia will be looking for a new job come midseason. He will be thrown into the pile of failed Bill Belichick disciples. Love the under in this one.

2019 Win-Loss Record 3-13

Green Bay Packers

2018 Record: 6-9-1

2019 Projected Win Total: 9

It was a tough year for the Packers in 2018, one filled with drama and discord between their star QB Aaron Rodgers and Head Coach Mike McCarthy. The Packers controversially decided to let go of the head coach a little past the middle of the season. Didn’t help much, the team still finished the season missing the playoffs and with a losing record.

I don’t see the Packers getting to double digits this season, so we simply have to hope that the Packers pass rush gets better through the draft and Aaron Rodgers likes his new coach. If those two things can happen, then I think we see the Packers at nine wins. Not enough here for me to make a play.

2019 Win-Loss Prediction: 9-7
