1st leg of the round of 16 for Champions League

The 1st leg of the round of 16 has ended, in the first match saw FC Barcelona travel to Lyon, the game ended in a nil-nil draw for both teams. FC Barcelona dominated Lyon with possession of the ball, and the sheer amount of shots but Lyon were able to deny Barcelona the opportunity to score. Lyon will want to take that same fighting spirit to FC Barcelona in the second leg as they travel to the Camp Nou for the second match.

The second game saw Liverpool and Bayern Munich square off at Anfield in England. This game also ended in a zero-zero draw, both teams had opportunities to win but were unable to score as both keepers managed to keep a clean sheet. Liverpool was able to get the last shot on goal through Sadio Mane who was denied by Manuel Neuer. Bayern Munich will play host to Liverpool at the Allianz Arena for the second match.

The last 2 matches of the round saw Atletico Madrid play host to Juventus, in this match Atletico Madrid was able to break the deadlock in the 78th minute with a goal from Jose Gimenez followed by another goal in the 83rd minute by Diego Godin. The game ended with Atletico Madrid taking the lead into the next match.

The last match featured Schalke 04 facing Manchester City at home. This match saw the bulk of the goals for these matches as Manchester City scored 3 with Sergio Aguero scoring in the 18th minute, Leroy Sane in the 85th and ended with Raheem Sterling scoring in the 90th minute but the hosts were able to draw 2 back with Nabil Mentaleb in the 38th and 45th minute by penalty. This match sees Manchester City take the lead to their home in the second leg.
