The first match of the Orlando City Invitational is over, and Orlando city fans and head coach James O’Connor were very happy with the result. Orlando won the match despite conceding the first goal, but the Lions were not going to go down without a fight and thanks to the both Chris Mueller and Tesho Akindele who scored goals back to back which allowed the Lion faithful in attendance to leave the stadium happy with the result and excited for the season to come. The Lions were in control for most of the game, but NYC FC was able to fire a shot from 30 yards out that managed to beat the Orlando City goalkeeper Brian Rowe, a recent signing for Orlando City who made his appearance in the game. Despite this Orlando City fought and took the game back from the visitors. Orlando City will host the New England Revolution next, and with this win, the books, Orlando City fans will want to see similar results for the rest of the tournament and for that to carry on into the season.
