Weekend MMA Breakdown
This past weekend was full of entertaining bouts throughout multiple promotions. Bellator 205 aired on Friday night and UFC Fight Night aired on Saturday night.
Bellator MMA presented a card full of title implication matchups. AJ Mckee earned his status as one of the top featherweights in the division. The Mercenary scored a knockout win over John Macapa in the main event. Mckee owns the longest winning streak in the company with 12 straight wins.
Rafael Lovato Jr faced John Salter in the co-main event on Friday night. Lovato finished Salter by submission in the third round. Patricky Freire earned his fourth straight win against Roger Huerta in a vicious knockout.
Sao Paulo, Brazil welcomed the UFC on Saturday night. Thiago Santos delivered a third-round knockout over Eryk Anders in a Light Heavyweight bout in the main event. Alex Oliveira made quick work of Carlo Pedersoli by knocking him out in less than a minute of the first round.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira returned from a long layoff against Sam Alvey. Nogueira caught Alvey in the second round with a big left hand and continued the pressure which resulted in a knockout.

There were also some notable prelim fights. Charles Oliveira broke the UFC record for most submissions (12) passing Royce Gracie. Francisco Trinaldo picked up another win over Evan Dunham by TKO. Steve Mowry submitted Ben Moa by submission in his Bellator debut. Adam Borics remains undefeated against Josenaldo Silva with a third-round submission.
